First Meeting In Siauliai, Lithuania

On November 20-23, 2019, the first meeting of the partners of the Education in Kindergardens in All Perspectives project of the international general education program "Erasmus + 2" (KA219) general education sector took place in Siauliai nursery "Gluosnis". The coordinator of this project is Rasa Plienienė, director of Šiauliai nursery "Gluosnis". Project partners - Children's Gradina 1 "Zdravec" - Petio Ganin kindergarten in Bulgaria, Centro Educativo Ponce de Leon - Educational institution for disabled people in Madrid, Istituto Omnicomprentiva "Ridolfi-Zimarino" - educational institution for 5 kindergartens and 5 main schools in Scerni in Italy, ERENKOY ILKOKULU - Primary School - Kindergarten in Istanbul, Turkey.

The project is managed by the Education Exchanges Support Foundation, financed by the European Union.

The goal of this meeting is to present partners’ institutions, share tasks and prepare for a meeting in Italy.

During the visit, the guests enjoyed the Erasmus + corner of Šiauliai nursery-kindergarten "Gluosnis“, the curriculum "Childhood after Willow Branch", observed children's activities in groups and outdoors.

We started the festive welcome with Lithuanian folk dance. Children and teachers wore national clothes. The project partners were congratulated by Rasa Biknienė, Chief Specialist of the Education Division of the Department of Education, Culture and Sport of Šiauliai City Municipality Administration.

The participants of the project were delighted at the reception of the mayor of Šiauliai city municipality Domas Griskevicius in the municipality. He told the guests about the city's economic situation, showed the film about Šiauliai.

The participants of the project got acquainted with the old architecture of the city, sculptures and fountains on the streets and squares, a sun-set clock, a golden boy, one of the most important sacred sites in Lithuania - the Hill of Crosess.

During the meeting, we realized that being a different nationality, of all ages, speaking in different languages, we are a huge community of like-minded people. We sincerely thank everybody for the cooperation and sharing of best practices.
